Description

Late September in West Cornwall can be magical for migrants and vagrant birds. We will concentrate our efforts on Waders and Passerines, visiting the Hayle Estuary and Drift Reservoir in search of passage waders like Ruff, Wood and Green Sandpiper and possibly, if we have had decent westerly winds, American species like Lesser Yellowlegs and Pectoral Sandpiper. Its then on to the valleys and Land’s End area where we hope to see Pied and Spotted Flycatchers, Tree Pipit, Redstart and hopefully something scarce or rare like Red-backed Shrike, Wryneck and Lapland Bunting. You never know what might turn up at this time of year!
