*GREATER SANDPLOVER* – wholly unconfirmed report of one near A30 Sunny Corner Lane bus stop, Sennen

LESSER SCAUP – probable female again at Dozmary Pool. Also drake Greater Scaup

RING-NECKED DUCK – two drakes still at Dozmary Pool

PURPLE HERON – juv again at Marazion

HEN HARRIER – one at CRoft Pascoe, but no sign of juv Northern Harrier

OSPREY – one at Land’s End

SHORT-EARED OWL – singles at Morwenstow and Porth Kidney Sands

RING OUZEL – one at Nanquidno Valley

*NORTHERN HARRIER* – juv male reported again at Croft Pascoe Pool

SQUACCO HERON – juvenile still on private undisclosed site in West Cornwall

RICHARD’S PIPIT – one flew south over Kynance Cove; one reported over Pendeen

YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER – one at Pendeen again

GLOSSY IBIS – two at Marazion Marsh RSPB. One flew over Penryn this morning

PURPLE HERON – again at Marazion Marsh RSPB

LAPLAND BUNTING – one flew north over Boscregan, St Just

HOOPOE – still by coast path at Chynhalls Point

DOTTEREL – one flew over St Agnes Head this morning

SPOONBILL – one flew east over Boscregan, St Just

GLOSSY IBIS – two in off the sea at Marazion Marsh this evening

PURPLE HERON – juv again at Marazion Marsh

SIBERIAN LESSER WHITETHROAT – one on west edge of Swingates House, Land’s End

COMMON ROSEFINCH – one in Maen Valley, Falmouth; one at Porthgwarra

RING-NECKED DUCK – 2 males again at Dozmary Pool

LAPLAND BUNTING – four at Chun Downs, Morvah; 2 at Porthgwarra; one at Land’s End

WOODLARK – one flew SE over Porthgwarra

YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER – one at Nanjulian Farm, Nanquidno, 2 reported at Porthgwarra

HOOPOE – again by coats path at Chynhalls Point

DOTTEREL – one reported at Windmill Farm reserve

SCILLONIAN III – 88 Cory’s Shearwaters, 4 Great Shearwaters, 31 Manx, 1 Great Skua, 2 Puffin and 6 Brent Geese from Scillonian III in Cornish waters this morning

AMERICAN BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT – in grass field NE of ‘Alder’ Valley, Nanjizal, calling frequently

SQUACCO HERON – one reported flew over Marazion Marsh RSPB at 1430hrs

BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER – in field NW of Ardensawah Farm, Porthgwarra

AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER – one reported at Hayle Estuary today which apparently flew south west

YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER – one at Cot Valley opposite Youth Hostel; one with tit flock at Land’s End

RING OUZEL – 2 flew in off sea at Pendeen this evening

CATTLE EGRET – 12 at Chapel Can Brea; 6 at Camel Estuary; one in fields at Illogan

HOODED CROW – one at Cot Valley on stone wall viewed for road to Cot Valley

WRYNECK – on coastal path between Loe Bar and Gunwalloe; one on sandy bank above ruin at Chapel Porth

OSPREY – one on Camel Estuary

HOODED CROW – still at Pendeen on wires at Higher Bojewyan

GARGANEY – one still at Calstock Wetlands

BLACK REDSTART – one in quarry at Caradon Hill

**BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER** – reported again in woods along Bosistow Lane, Polgigga

*NORTHERN HARRIER* – juv again in Goonhilly Downs/Kynance cove area

*LESSER GREY SHRIKE* – still this morning at Caradon Hill on hillside south of mast. Later appeared to go to roost on mast

AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER – with GP flock in field at west end of Land’s End airport, tho mobile

GLOSSY IBIS – seven flew south over Royal Cornwall Showground then appeared to land in fields towards St Breock

WOODCHAT SHRIKE – still at Marazion Marsh

PURPLE HERON – juv agagin at Marazion

WRYNECK – one at Chapel Porth on sandy bank above ruin

HAWFINCH – one flew NW over Falmouth this morning

HOODED CROW – one at Pendeen on wires at Higher Bojewyan

WOODCHAT SHRIKE – again at Marazion Marsh RSPB

TURTLE DOVE – one on wires at Nanquidno Valley 

ROSY STARLING – juv with Starling flock at Lizard Village

CATTLE EGRET – 5 at Marazion Marsh

YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER – one at St Loy; one at Porthcurnow in copse between car park and beach

HOODED CROW – one at Pendeen on wires at Higher Bojewyan

WEDNESDAY 4TH OCTOBER 2023

**BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER** trapped, ringed and Released at Polgigga. Seen briefly on a few occasions later along Bosistow Lane.

LESSER GREY SHRIKE – one still around mast at Caradon Hill

AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER – juv in field beyond end of runway at Land’s End airport with European Golden Plover flock

SIBERIAN LESSER WHITETHROAT – one trapped and ringed at Nanjizal

WOODCHAT SHRIKE – still at Marazion Marsh RSPB

LITTLE STINT – one on Ryan’s Field then flew towards Hayle Estuary; one at Stithians Reservoir

TUESDAY 3rd OCTOBER 2023

*NORTHERN HARRIER* – juvenile again at Goonhilly NR viewed from Croft Pascoe Pool this morning

*LESSER GREY SHRIKE* – 1st-winter still 400m south-west of main mast/transmitter; park in car park at 50.5011, -4.4264 and view from nearby transmitter

WOODCHAT SHRIKE – 1st-winter still in first paddock along Green Lane this morning; do not enter paddocks

ROSY STARLING – juv with Starling flock at Lizard Village, just west of village green at 0730hrs

MONDAY 2nd OCTOBER 2023

*NORTHERN HARRIER* – juvenile again at Goonhilly NR viewed from Croft Pascoe Pool this evening

*LESSER GREY SHRIKE* – 1st winter again around mast at Carradon Hill

PECTORAL SANDPIPER  – juv again at Goonhilly Downs tho mobile

WOODCHAT SHRIKE – 1st winter again at Marazion in paddock on Green Lane

HOOPOE – still in paddock at Green Lane Marazion (Please do not trespass onto private fields/gardens)

ROSY STARLING – juv with Starling flock at Lizard Village

CATTLE EGRET – 2 in field between cafe and caravan site at St Agnes Head

SABINE’S GULL – one at sea off Mermaid II Pelagic. Also 6 Great Shearwaters, 5 Balearic Shearwaters and Sooty Shearwater

BALEARIC SHEARWATER – 8 off Scillonian III

SUNDAY 1st OCTOBER  

*NORTHERN HARRIER* – juvenile again at Goonhilly NR/Bochym NNR. Showing well at times. 

*LESSER GREY SHRIKE* – 1st winter again around mast at Carradon Hill

GLOSSY IBIS – three feeding on manure pile at Trewey Common

BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER – one at Helston Loe Pool then flushed and flew off low north

PECTORAL SANDPIPER – juv at Goonhilly Downs tho mobile

BARRED WARBLER – one at Zennor on path between Tinners Arms and coastal path

YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER – one at Nanjizal Valley

WOOD WARBLER – one in valley at Trevowhan

ROSY STARLING – juv with Starling flock at Lizard Village

WOODCHAT SHRIKE – 1st winter again at Marazion in paddock on Green Lane

POMARINE SKUA – one offshore at Penzance chasing gulls
